Jonny does good
Jonny Lee Miller (Angelina’s ex, and some time actor, maybe you’ve seen Hackers) stars in the biopic, The Flying Scotsman. I can’t believe I only heard about this movie this week. Still, I remember the moment perfectly. I was folding my Ralph Lauren sleepwear when I heard it listed on this weeks releases on a radio show. I wasn’t really listening, but then I heard Miller’s name and I had to find out more.
The movie is one of those against all odds, including mental illness, sort of things. I’ll still watch it. I have no idea who the hell Graeme Obree was either until this movie. Guess it will be educational. Hope this really helps Jonny Lee Miller continue to get work. I think he might have another television pilot in the works. Here’s hoping it catches on, unlike last season’s “Smith”.

No More “Gilmore”
My deep disdain for “Gilmore Girls” has existed ever since the show premiered. I even managed to say how much I hate the show in front of the Lauren Graham in my local blockbuster on accident. I still didn’t apologize for saying what I know CW’s been thinking all along. That’s why they decided this week to cancel the series.
The show kinda sucked to begin with, nothing against the actors involved, the writing is just dribble. The mother-daughter bonding thing got old, really quickly. They were always gossiping in their perfect little calvin klein sleepwear, sitting on their calvin klein bedding. It was all just white-washed, cheesy dialogue with far too many “likes” for me to put up with.
So long, “Gilmore Girls”. I’m sure there’s a decent percentage of people who are sad about this development. My advice is to watch re-runs on ABC Family. It will help dull the pain of the inevitable.

Take a minute for the Godfather of Soul
Today is James Brown’s birthday. He would have been 74 years old.

I can’t believe he’s gone. The man was a legend. He could make anything funky, no matter the outfit. Even that silly get-up they had him in Rocky 4 was cool. His suits sometimes looked like borderline discount sleepwear: always shiny, bright, and colorful. I hope he’s living it up in heaven. I bet he’s surrounded with beautiful ladies who are waiting on him hand and foot while he’s lies upon a bed of gold, 600-thread count sheets.

‘Dead Like Me’ Movie
“Dead Like Me” will be coming back as a straight to dvd movie!

I wasn’t too into the show when it first aired, but thanks to re-runs on the SciFi channel, I really like it. And Mandy Patinkin, star of CBS’ “Criminal Minds”, is the man. And who can resist the charms of Ms. Jasmine Guy, of “Different World” fame. Remember her crazy outfits on that show. The entire set design of those dorm rooms seems so dated, right down to the down comforters on their beds.

So yeah, I’m stoked on this new development for “Dead Like Me”. Maybe there’s hope for other cancelled shows, “Threshold” anybody? Carla Cugino really needs a popular show all her own, “Entourage” does not count.

Another Spelling Creation
Sweet Aaron Spelling, may god rest your soul, you put out some serious television hits over the years! “90210″, “Charlie’s Angels”, “Melrose Place”, and my favorite, short lived soap, “Model, Inc”. Back when no one knew who Carrie Anne Moss was, before her career defining role as Trinity, she was Carrie Spencer.

The show followed the lives of selfish models, photographers and agents working at the same agency, Models Inc. The first (and only) season was filled with backstabbing and adulterous affairs on satin sheets. The acting definitely kinda sucked, but it was truly entertaining. Tell me why it’s not been released yet on dvd!! I know at least a few people who would pay to watch these characters’ shenanigans.
