Digital Camcorder Redux

Ferrell’s continued ‘Glory

Blades of Glory took in 33 million this weekend. Apparently, the studio was hoping to match the 47 million from Talledega Nights. I still haven’t bothered watching that movie yet, and I see everything!

Are those executives on crack? Ice skating is a pretty hard sell for even the most die hard fans. The plot is ludicrous, especially since Ferrell is about a foot too tall to even be an ice skater. Let alone, a world champion skater. But it’s comedy, so they can get away with it.

What will be next, some project featuring Ferrell doing his James Lipton impression for a high def camcorder? Say, come to think of it, I actually might watch that. They did do that stupid Jiminy Glick thing, perhaps he might consider some tv work for comedy central.

Will Ferrell as Robert Goulet on Conan

Or what if he did a Robert Goulet movie. That would be funny too. If they can stretch a high concept ice skating movie into real cash, then why not expand one of his skits. Everybody else is doing it.
