Laughable ‘Hillz’

I attempted to watch The Hillz on TMC yesterday, but I couldn’t make it through. It was a morbid curiosity and a friend suggested it was hilarious to watch Paris Hilton try to act. But the movie was terrible. I didn’t even know what I was watching at one point. It just follows these rich jerks who think they’re 50 cent or something and start shooting people for no reason. It’s like the poor man’s version of Alpha Dog, and nobody even saw that film. But then, there’s Paris Hilton who took her first on-screen role as the “pretty” girl that the main character is pining after. Gimme a break, people.

The video quality was terrible. There were several scenes that were so grainy that they were almost indistinguishable. I wondered what piece of crap camcorder they used to make this movie. If they were rich people being documented, shouldn’t they at least use a decent video camera to make this stupid movie? And who in their right mind even financed this film? Then it donned on me, no one financed this “movie”. This is some ridiculous ego-project that the director cooked up. They clearly didn’t put much thought into a script. I mean the characters kept spouting off street lingo such as “Know your place, bitch”. Now that’s deep.

Perhaps, I should have drank a few beers and maybe this wouldn’t have been that bad. I shoulda known better than to attempt to watch anything with Paris Hilton in it sober.
