Digital Camcorder Redux

Lo-fi music video production

Many music videos can be made on a cheap/almost zero budget. A Sony Dcr Dvd505 can do the trick for most music videos. You just shoot your idea and then for sound, overlay the song. And now you’ve got a snazzy shoestring budget music video.

The fresh faced, Ace Norton has made a nice career outta music video direction. He’s made videos for Bloc Party, Willowz, Death Cab for Cutie, Teddybears and now even Mandy Moore! I just can’t believe it. And he’s only 25. See the new video for yourself.

The video seems really high tech, but in reality it was just her in a bunch of outfits shot from the same upward pan camera angle. Obviously, there were a lot of after effects animation. He just has an idea and runs with it. And it really seems to be working for him.
