Message of Love

Today I got all these crappy flash-animated valentine’s. They’re not very original. A bunch of flowers and singing. Ugh. Plus, they were from people I barely know from college.

I feel like Vday is really single awareness day. But remember in elementary school, it used to be fun. Before people got married and boys still had cooties and all that jazz. You’d buy the big pack so everyone in class got one from you. It was sort of obligatory. But you would save the best one for your true crush. Or send them a carnation for like 2 bucks. It’s was so cute…back then.

Today, if someone at my job today gave me a paper valentine, I’d probably throw it away. I’ve gotten too cynical over the years. Maybe if someone made me a digital video valentine with a sony digital 8 camcorder or something, I’d take it seriously. That would mean he put a lot of effort into the message. What if it even had background music or dare I say, editing? That would be really sweet. A guy right after my digital heart.

For now, I guess I’ll try and remain calm for the rest of this stupid holiday. Just because you’re alone today doesn’t mean it’s forever. Or does it? Check out this Vday sketch made with some dv camcorders.
