South By Southwest ‘07
The SxSW film festival is starting this week. This is one of the smaller, but still notable festivals. They have trailers for most of the movies to get you informed. I noticed a short film, Un attimo di respiro, that was made entirely in Italian. The director, Sara Colangelo studied in Italy where she made this film with a HDCam. I’m betting a Sony camcorder since one of their handycams would work best with all the exteriors used in the film.
Robert Rodriguez is from Texas, so he usually makes an appearance. And I noticed that they give alot of coverage to the horror genre. They have ‘Round Midnite showings of several off-beat and campy type horror films.
They do show films made in all formats, as any festival really should. Even if you used a 35mm industry certified camera or a mini dv camcorder, Texas will give ya a break.
