Digital Camcorder Redux

The essential camcorder bag

After you buy a camcorder, if you actually want to take it out into the world, you probably need a camera bag of some kind. There are your typical, plain Sony camcorder case or bags that aren’t very interesting. Most of them are all gray or leather, almost no color. Even Targus’ “fashionable”, I’m using that word loosely, line of bags are too clunky and futuristic looking for me. It reminds of Star Trek for some reason, which in this case is not a good thing.

But where are the stylish, yet functional camcorder bags for Spring 2007? I’m not expecting there to be Prada-level accessories, but can we get something cool at the very least? I would probably re-purpose another type of bag, probably a messenger bag to carry my tapes and lenses. And then, I would use a protective briefcase sort of contraption to house my camcorder. Maybe like one of those sleek, platinum looking ones that are always props for serious drug deals on tv. But instead of cash, it’d carry my shiny new camcorder.
