Tricks of Light

I finally saw The Illusionist, starring Ed Norton & Jessical Biel. I know I’m like hella behind, but I was into The Prestige so I was in no rush.

It was good, but a little too predictable. It had me going for the first half though. But the trick ending wasn’t much of a reveal for me. Plus, I had problems trying to figure out the accents of the actors. Some lines sounded British while others had like a german/austrian twang at the end.

But the cinematography was beautiful, like a painting almost. Everything seems to have a golden touch. And all the magic or “illusions” were done flawlessly. I wish that you could get that yellow, warm feel with HDV or other forms of digital video.
