Speed Racer Week
Summer blockbuster season has begun and this week we have the Wachowski Brothers’ Speed Racer.
Trailer Check:
Emile Hirsch stars as Speed, the wholesome racing hero from the 1960s cartoon “Speed Racer”. Speed races against his arch enemy, Racer X, played by Matthew Fox. And Christina Ricci is Trixie, Speed’s girlfriend. I dunno, it’s not really impressing me. The trailer just makes everything seem too campy. I’ll probably see it eventually, since the I do own all the Matrix films.

I was so hyped up when I first heard they were making this movie, and even more excited when they released pics of the racing car in the movie, but then the previews dropped, and sadly so did my expectations. I still went and saw it, but wasnt surprised that i wound up hating it…seems like they made it to target kids and teenagers…which in my opinion was stupid since that generation has probably never seen any of the toons.
Yeah, the movie totally sucked. I was bored outta my mind by the Grand Prix final showdown race.
